你被冥王星了吗
不止日本人每年有流行语大奖, 美国人的方言学会每年也搞流行语新语的投票, 以前的诸如y2k, Weapon of Mass Destruction也有所耳闻, 今年的冠军比较有意思. 颁给了被其他八个兄弟抛弃的倒霉的可怜蛋: 冥王星Pluto. 它在与climate canary的PK中以57:43胜出.
但是这次当选的to pluto/to be plutoed却是动词, 解释如下:
to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet.
因为今年中冥王星小弟被一群专门研究星星的人们所鄙视, 逐出了九大行星的家族, 家族人数便成了中国人喜欢的8. 所以现在成了(使)贬值, (使)降级的意思.
看了别人用这个词, 还有fire(开除, 炒鱿鱼)的意思. 这个世道, 看来当个行星都不容易呀, 冥王星提心吊胆了好久, 最后还是被冥王星了. 当人就更不容易了. 大家都在努力的工作, 就是为了不被别人”冥王星了”! , “Are you plutoed?”还真是个让人不爽的问题…
其他的比较有意思的入选词语还有
- Flog: 来自fake blog, 那些为了企业为了宣传自己的产品的做出的blog.
- Fed-Ex: 这个外号太损了, 这可不仅仅是联邦快递(Federal Express), 而是Kevin Federline, 外号K-Fed, 但是今年以比联邦快递送包裹还快的闪电速度, 成为了小甜甜不莱妮的前夫(ex-husband), 结果被人称为Fed-Ex.
- YouTube: 继Google之后又成了一个动词, 当然是贴出视频的意思.
每年都会有词被kuso, 我想起了借布什的那句”it must be somewhere” 而出名的大规模杀伤性武器. 不久就见到了个巨乳妹的照片, 旁边写着”Weapon of Mass Distraction”. 美女照片的旁边写着”Weapon of Mass Seduction”, 可怜的小布什也瞬间也有了plutoed的外号”Weapon of Mass Deception”…
这个故事显然告诉冥王星人,你们要注意啊, 以后说不定论坛里就不会像以前那样叫你们的老名字火星人了.
